Universal Presets

A universal set of presets for Lightroom (LR) and Capture One (CR) with a strict hierarchy. It features three levels of processing, offering thousands of color correction variations while maintaining color purity.

Step 1: Click "Start"

This is where you set up basic adjustments that don’t affect color and light. It helps make the frame visually pleasing from a geometric perspective, slightly correcting color noise and texture.

Step 2: Choose a Color Correction Option

  • A-soft: Provides ideal, harmonious pastel colors while maintaining the original mood of the frame.
  • B-hard: Minimizes shades, resulting in a rich, complementary color scheme with a fashionable golden-brown Instagram look.

At this point, you can stop and continue editing manually, or proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Select Additional Corrections

  • BASE: A neutral color option.
  • Fuji color: Designed for a film-like Fuji color palette, especially for someone who loves that look.
  • Skin: Optimized for portraits with a lighter skin tone.

This step involves additional color and light corrections done through curves. Avoid trying to alter these curves directly, as it may lead to confusion and errors. After applying, move on to step 4.

Step 4: Manually Adjust White Balance (WB)

This is the most complex step. Open the BASIC tab and carefully adjust the white balance and exposure by eye. And that’s it!

By just following the first three steps and applying different presets, you can create SIX different color correction versions. If you adjust the WB, the possibilities are endless!
